At Stamford School, we believe in empowering boys to discover the gifts and talents within them. We want your son to understand himself, and the world around him, and to strive to improve both.
Stamford School has a strong reputation for success, from academic excellence to outstanding achievements in music, drama, sports and adventure. We foster, within our boys, a sense of personal responsibility, service to the community and leadership, underpinned by a pastoral ethos which places the well-being of the boys at the heart of all we do. A Stamford School boy is rounded and grounded.
Our broad curriculum coupled with innovative and enthusiastic teaching provides an environment in which young minds are stimulated and developed. Academic learning is enriched by a wide variety of educational visits and international exchanges.
The Stamford School campus is ideally situated just a few minutes’ walk from the centre of Stamford, compromising of 54 buildings and a further 60 acres of landscaped sports pitches and gardens. Students in the Sixth Form are taught in co-educational classes across both the Stamford School and Stamford High School sites, meaning they have access to additional facilities at both sites.
The Stamford Schools’ scholarships programme identifies pupils with outstanding talents and skills in a variety of fields and helps develop those talents during their time at the Schools. Scholarships are awarded on entry to Year 7, 9 and 12, although there are later opportunities to gain a scholarship once a child becomes a pupil at the Schools. Pupils who enter the Schools in Years 7 and 8 may apply internally for Art, Drama, Sport and All-rounder Scholarships as these are not available before Year 9. Pupils may sit for all scholarships on moving into the Sixth Form.
