Mill Hill School was founded in 1807, when its founders chose its location on the top of a hill for its fresh air, safety and natural beauty.
In practical terms, we offer a forward-looking curriculum which establishes strengths in the core subjects but is also broad and flexible enough to adapt to the demands of the 21st century. We are as focused on emerging, innovative and creative subjects as we are on classic academic disciplines. Our pupils find fulfilment and success in a broad range of learning pathways, aided by our stimulating academic environment and numerous activities outside the classroom.
Our expectations of our students are simple: engage pro-actively with your learning at School and at home, don’t be afraid to take a risk or learn from a mistake, be proud of your efforts and remember that education is a long, exciting journey with challenges and rewards all along the way.
Set in a sprawling 150 acre campus, Mill Hill School has its own Chapel, theatre and vast outdoor playing fields, all just 10 miles from Central London.
Mill Hill’s boarding houses are home to around 200 students. Each boarding house is led by a resident Housemaster who is supported by a sub-team.
Mill Hill School is part of the Mill Hill School Foundation. The foundation caters for students from age 3 through to 18 via its four schools, Grimsdell (Pre-prep), Belmont (Prep), Mill Hill School and Mill Hill International. The four schools are spread across separate sites, but are in close enough proximity to allow facilities and boarding houses to be shared among the group.
Mill Hill School offer a number of scholarships for students entering year 9 (fourth form) or year 12 (sixth form). Scholarships are available in the following areas: Academic, art & design, sport, music and drama. The maximum amount awarded in any new scholarship or combination of scholarships (including Sixth Form scholarships) is 10% of a day or boarding fee, as appropriate. All scholarship applicants will be required to undergo an assessment.
